live @Central Station – 22/01/2010

Tonight was a special night indeed as it was the official launch party of Severenth’s latest album, ‘Reveal’. Following the very impressive Godsized on the main stage at Central Station, Severenth took it to a new level. Don’t get me wrong, Godsized were brilliant, but Severenth were on fire.
They roared through the set which included 8 brutally well written tracks off their latest release and it went down a storm. For a local band to get that reaction from their fans new and old is a sight to behold. They had an intense pit on the go and there was also some great crowd participation. There has been a lot of conjecture in the press recently regarding live music dying, but from this show I contest that.
This band are without doubt the forefront of British upcoming metal and they really are something special. Fans need to start supporting more local bands to keep the live music scene going, so why not make it Severenth, you will not be disappointed.
One word I would use from the off to sum up this performance of Severenth, would be ‘Unity’. From just before they took the stage, it was clear to see that this band mean everything to each and every band member. The group morale amongst the ranks definitely provides a strength and uncompromising solidarity in their live show. Everything seemed spot on from their performance, they were tight and together and really revelled in being on stage and tearing it up.
The fact that they have also toured America was without doubt beneficial experience to them and they are going to go from strength to strength. Combine their live show with the quality of ‘Reveal’ then there is no stopping them.
Lets hope we see them at a festival in the near future because they would really be in their element then.
