This 3 track EP which Liverpudlian 5-piece, Always The Quiet Ones has bestowed upon us is one of those cd’s which will leave the listener begging for more. Take the opening track ‘Sign Of The Times’ for instance, it has plenty to offer you.  Its heavy, melodic and catchy, its something that Biffy Clyro used to do in their earlier albums, except these guys do it better.  They rip up the rule book and have created something special that wont leave the listener short-changed.

‘Valentina’ is the best of the three here particularly with vocalist Blas Barragan Jr’s incredible vocals, belting out this song as if it were his last. It all ends with the epic title-track ‘Freak Show’.  This track  is where the band’s musicianship really take the spotlight, starting off with the clean guitars and launching into a heavy riff which then leads onto the melodic verse which then builds up brilliantly on to the chorus that will leave everyone singing along, it ends with a heavy grunge-like riff which closes the EP on a high note. What ATQO have come up with here is brilliant, its a wonder why they aren’t signed, if they carry on like this, then the four words: ‘Always The Quiet Ones’  will be on the tips of everyone’s tongues.
